She holds a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology and Sports Biomechanics from the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences (NIH), and she is currently pursuing her Ph.D. on the health effects of interrupting sedentary behavior on cardiometabolic-and vascular risk factors.
With a background that includes research on endurance physiology and physical activity interventions, Melina has contributed to both academic and applied environments. As a long-standing lecturer for AFPT and curriculum contributor, she has educated hundreds of personal trainers in endurance physiology, strength training, coaching methodology, and individualized programming. Her field experience as a coach includes performance testing, athlete development, and return-to-sport guidance for grassroots to elite level in disciplines including cross-country skiing, running, tennis, combat sports, track & field. I addition to working with your every man and clinical populations.
Melina is especially known for her clear and engaging science communication, making complex knowledge both relevant and applicable, both for students, peers and the public. Her expertise includes exercise physiology, endurance training, exercise testing, women’s health in sport, and strength training for endurance sports. She is also the founder of Løpesterk—a digital platform that combines individual training plans with science-based guidance and community support.
